On 11 November 2006 in Warsaw was established

European Off Film Academy

GRAND OFF

-World Off Film Awards

Cinema Art Foundation based on long experience and a wide range of international relations initiated GRAND OFF European Off Film Awards.


Officially the institution was established on the 11th of November 2006 in the Luna Cinema in Warsaw. On that day representatives from 17 countries - Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Croatia, Luxemburg, Germany, Russia, Slovakia, Switzerland, Sweden, Ukraine, Italy and Poland signed the founding act.

This is the first and only institution in Europe which aims at initiating an exchange between all Europeans countries and facilitating the emergence of the best Polish productions of independent cinema.

Among the members there are directors of World Independent Film Festivals. the representatives of World Film Union UNICA, professional filmmakers and the best authors of European Independent Cinema.

Patronage over GRAND OFF European Off Film Awards is taken by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Director of Polish Film Institute and Mayor of Warsaw.

The institution was initiated and organised by Cinema Art Foundation and supported by the City of Warsaw and Ministry of Culture.

Upon the request of Wim Wenders (European Film Academy) we changed the name European Off Film Academy to GRAND OFF - European Off Film Awards.
